Welcome to Term 1 2019!

Murtle and I hope everyone managed to get a little break over the xmas period and you are all ready for a new school year.

Murtle had a lovely ten days in Auckland meeting my family and seeing the sights of the big city. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again and have been working hard to prepare the class for the new term.

Our letter/blend of the week sharing will start in week three, I can't wait to see the interesting things that our children bring for sharing.

We will still be having a healthy snack break at approx 10am and a fruit break around 12pm. As this is our hottest time of year, it would be great if Room 1 children could bring a drink bottle (water only please) to school for when they get thirsty during class time.

Healthy bodies is our topic for this term and eating healthy ties in with this.

We will be looking at what is good for our bodies, our brains and our bones!

Our class novel this term is George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. I think we will get some exciting writing and art work relating to this book!

Lastly, we are looking forward to a return to swimming! The pool is looking a lot better than it did at the end of last year, and fingers cross....everything is on track for some water fun this term. Maybe not in the first two weeks, but it will happen.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and see you all on Wednesday 30th January!
