This term we are conducting science experiments each Friday. We have been working with Mrs Meikle, looking at the reaction between baking soda and vinegar. We used the gases produced from this reaction to blow up balloons! We used different sized bottles and noticed that the smaller bottles blew the balloons up more. (The fire engine in the background was NOT at school because of our experiments!)
Welcome to our Room 1 blog! We are a class of Year 0- 2 students at Awahono School - Grey Valley, in Ahaura, near Greymouth on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Our teachers are Mrs Hahn and Mrs Meikle.

Measurement
Room 1 have been measuring using non-standard units. We lay on the ground and marked how tall we are on the carpet with tape. Jack and Bethany have measured their height using magnetic letters, rulers, sight words and pens.
